Scotland

I am flying out at lunchtime, to Edinburgh, a short flight. From
there, it's rent a car and drive south to the Borders area, where
Karine lives. She's welcomed me for two nights, and I'm chuffed
to bits by her welcome.

I am experiencing a few butterflies about driving a rental car
on the left side of the road, a standard shift, at that. Look out,
Scotland! I'm sure I'll be fine.

Dublin could take another week to fully grasp and see, but I've
had a good time here. A bit of homesickness one night, when the
music was extra good. A trio played Raglan Road in amidst a
bunch of reels and jigs, and it brought tears. I found Christy
Moore's book, One Voice: A Life In Song, and will do another
radio special on him in the fall.

Euros back to pounds, I'm going back to the hotel to pack and
jump in a taxi to Dublin City airport, en route to Edinburgh.
It's hard to believe I'll be home in three days. Much as I look
forward to it, I figure it'll take me a week at most to be
longing for the road again.

Cheers!
