Better Days #170 :

Troubadours

Thursday, June 2nd
10:00 pm to 12:00 am PDST
CFRO 102.7 FM by signal

I'm about to air my last two shows before going to
Europe for the summer. June 2nd and 9th will be it
for me until the first Thursday in September. I have
a group of guest hosts lined up in my place until my
return, and Ruth Leibik will, as always, be hosting
the last Thursday of each month.

This week's episode of the show is called Troubadours.

Featured music will include the wonderful Australian
troubadours, The Waifs, from their double-cd live set,
A Brief History. I'll play a generous selection from
Shelby Lynne's brand new Suit Yourself, just out as
of a week ago, and give you a taste of a songwriter from
North Carolina named Jon Shain, from his new record,
Home Before Long.

There'll be a story and a poem or two, along with tunes
from a number of artists whose livelihood depends on
travelling and performing for people. Trust me, I've got
my ears to the ground and a kitbag filled with artists and
songs well worth your time and ears and heart.

I'll be looking for you, old friend, around the corner and
around the world. Join me tomorrow night, 10:00 pm to
midnight Pacific Daylight Saving Time at

http://www.coopradio.org

for two hours of wonderful songs and good company
on the Better Days radio program.

Bring a memory!

DL
