I Keep With Joy

better days_________www.coopradio.org
.
The birds continue singing in their cage
Bless the birds for singing as they do
A song to heal the sorrows of the age
A song to help my soul remember you

When you need a blessing I will come
To pray and sing and weep and touch and give
And mend the broken skin of heaven's drum
It's only by forgiveness we shall live

Black smoke on the Airport Road this eve
A car exploded and a woman died
Where I held her there is blood upon my sleeve
Blood diluted by the tears I cried

chorus

There are no edges to my spirit now
The winds have come and worn them all away
I keep with joy as much as I know how
I find that I have less and less to say

chorus

The birds continue singing in their cage
Bless the birds for singing as they do
A song to heal the angers of the age
A song to help the wind remember you

When you need a blessing I will come
To pray and sing and weep and touch and give
And mend the broken heart of heaven's drum
It's only by forgiveness we shall live
